Maen Melhem is the General Manager of Palestine Telecommunications Company – Paltel; the leading Fixed-line, Broadband operator, and ICT, Data Center services provider.
Mr. Melhem has held this position of General Manager in Paltel since October 2014.
Throughout his tenure, he has overseen a rapid period of development, improving the company’s performance in all its various fields.
In particular, Paltel – under Melhem - has greatly enhanced the subscribers' experience by launching several new services, products, and campaigns. Notably too, Paltel has also been able to introduce significant higher Internet speed profiles for Palestinian homes.
In 2017, Melhem also took the critical strategic step towards investing in establishing (Tier III) Data Centers in Nablus and Al-Bireh cities.
This has allowed Paltel to deliver for the Palestinian business sector the highest level of (international) standard regarding data services.
Previous to being GM at Paltel, Mr. Melhem worked as the general manager of Palestine’s leading mobile operator, the Palestine Cellular Communication Company Ltd. - Jawwal. Indeed, Mr. Melhem began his 16-year professional career at Jawwal, occupying several managerial and C-class positions including Sales Director and Marketing Director before becoming General Manager.
Whilst GM at Jawwal, Mr. Melhem and his team implemented a comprehensive business plan that achieved top service quality and customer satisfaction. His inputs to the company during this period enabled Jawwal to maintain its position at the top of the telecommunication sector, despite the entry of an ambitious competing mobile operator in Palestine in 2009.
Mr. Melhem is currently a member of the executive committee of the Paltel Group. He is also a board member of the Paltel Group Federation, the Golden Wheat Mills and The National Bank. As a sports fan, Mr. Melhem has also headed the Federation of Sports for All since 2013, lately Mr. Melhem headed Palestine Federation for Electronic and Intellectual Sports.
Mr. Melhem holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Al Quds University and a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance from Hebron University, Palestine.
During his working life, he attended several international conferences and advanced training programs that enriched his knowledge in the telecom field.
